Q: After installing the backlight and bivert module, my screen looks washed out.

A: There’s few things that could be wrong here:

  1. Make sure you removed the clear protective film from the polarizer. Even though it is clear it will interfere with the polarization when light passes through it.
  2. Turn the polarizer 90s degrees
  3. Reflow the solder vias on the bivert module, especially PIN1. If there’s a poor connection you will have image quality issues.
  4. Make sure you installed the backlight in the correct orientation. The red wire should be to the right, leaving the brighter side of the backlight facing forward.

Q: The contrast dial is backwards

A: That’s a side effect of “biverting”. The dial for adjusting contrast will be the opposite of what it was before installing the module.
